The Firefighters of Gem County Foundation was created by a group of veteran volunteer firefighters who share one simple belief: when fire threatens our community, every second counts.

We’ve seen first-hand how quickly a small, manageable fire can turn into a destructive force when access is limited, resources are thin, and help is miles away. That’s why we founded this organization - to close the gap between the moment a fire starts and the moment it’s under control.

What We Do

Boots on the Ground

Our trained firefighters respond directly to wildland fires with the gear and equipment needed for rapid action. Our goal is simple - get to the fire fast, contain it early, and prevent it from growing into a large-scale disaster.

Support for Local Departments

We raise funds and provide grants for local fire departments in need, helping them secure critical tools, protective gear, and technology they otherwise might not afford.

Disaster Relief for Residents

When a fire strikes a home or property, we step in to help residents recover - from providing essentials in the first days to connecting them with longer-term recovery resources.

Community Preparedness

We work to ensure rural areas have trained responders, even in places where traditional departments can’t always reach in time.

Why We Exist

In Gem County and surrounding rural areas, access is often the biggest challenge in firefighting. Steep Terrain, dirt roads, and long distances can delay help - and in wildfire conditions, those delays are costly. Our foundation exists to fill that gap - not to replace existing fire agencies, but to work alongside them, providing the speed, manpower, and specialized equipment to protect what matters most.
